Hi there! I am honored to meet you. I am Katie Waterman and I consider it to be a privilege to walk alongside individuals and to help them in their most vulnerable moments. I graduated from Lincoln Christian University with a Masters in Counseling and have been working as a clinical mental health therapist for four years. My husband and I re-located to Colorado due to a deep desire to live closer to the mountains and a passion for the outdoors.
My approaches tend to be towards using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, where we can delve into challenging unhelpful thoughts that often accompany symptoms of depression and anxiety. I also use mindfulness, which is a way for you feel grounded in the present when things feel shaky. I also consider it to be incredibly important to use a trauma-informed approach-focusing on the individual and your story.
I enjoy working with all ages, but a majority of previous working with individuals has been with children in a school setting.
On my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, and my three fur babies. I also love cats, spending time in coffee shops, and outside hiking.
I look forward to meeting with you and coming alongside you in your journey towards health and healing!
